Important writing habits of doctoral students (2)?

In this final newsletter, we have provided five tips for developing good writing habits, and this issue will continue to cover another five.

Time limit

Even if you can write all day, you can't be productive, which means you spend a lot of time writing words you won't use. Try to keep time and workload within a certain range, because everyone can write productivity with only two hours a day. So sit down and write something else for two hours, but don't exceed this time limit. With this limitation, it can be more efficient to reduce a few short periods of time to stay cool. Here is a common technique for almost any job to increase productivity-tomato technology. First, take a timer (this method is named after a tomato-type cooking timer), schedule twenty minutes, then turn on all the horsepower, focus on the work in front of you, then stop for five minutes and go to the toilet for some snacks . In this way, the twenty-five minutes of the time period is called a pomodoro, and try to divide the working hours into such units that you can stay in a state of energy and productivity. The point is, when the day's progress is complete, it's time to complete and leave the desktop. When you encounter a difficult situation, you must stop your work and leave the scene immediately! Even if your work efficiency is very high, you will have to get up and leave at that time, but don't forget to write a note the next day. Overwork or overtime will cost you the next time writing and weaken your difficult writing habits.

Limit the number of words

Maybe the time period is not written for you, because when you want to move the pen, the timer goes off. Well, try the following alternatives: get yourself a goal based on words. But be better! Some people can quickly enter a thousand words in an hour and then edit and correct again. Some people are doing it, and they may only type 50 words in an hour. First, pay attention to your writing habits and try to keep track of the number of words you write each day for a week. The average number you get is the amount you need to enter every day for the next week. Document the results and decide if you want to reduce the number of words to promote achievement or challenge more words. However, don't be too reluctant to try to remain as practical as possible, or you will undermine your writing spirit.

Just do it!

If you plan your writing time every day, all you need to do is sit down and start writing (even if you've been writing an emergency job email before, it's time to get up, take a break, and then sit down and show your writing Sincerity) ... The above theory sounds simple, but difficult to implement. Try to get rid of this annoying thought and don't want to read the web, remember "write these 25 minutes" and then focus on doing it. Write everything down

Writing rules are key. Whatever you write, regular writing can improve your communication skills while preventing terrible writing obstacles. Whether it is your work, research report, class plan or seminar summary, there is always something worth writing in the academic world. If you find that your thesis is writing too much, practising everything else that requires writing, no matter how short it is, may help hone your skills. Remember that routine?

The most important thing to avoid falling behind is setting and following a schedule. If you are sitting at your desk but don't want to write in front of you, there is no more than two hours to pick you up. When you decide your time to write every day, be prepared and invest yourself in writing within two hours. Allocate your time and don't spend too much time on a single job. This guarantees your productivity. Once you have developed the habit of doing things to follow the table, you will find that this habit can help you even in different fields.
